Chester le Stories

Digital Voice for Communities, a social enterprise based in Gateshead, has been working with the local community at Bullion Hall, recording in a series of podcasts, stories of growing up in Chester le Street from the 1940's onwards.

Digital Voice has also involved the Junior Youth Club at Bullion Hall in making an animation based on the stories collected, and children from Bullion Lane Primary School in making time capsules.

The project, which began in November last year, finished in June with the opportunity to listen to the podcasts, watch the Youth Club animation about the history of Chester le Street. You can now watch enjoy the animation and listen the 10 podcasts.
