Skills for a career in Children's Social Care course starts February

This free 6 week course is suitable for those who are looking to work in, or widen their knowledge of, working with children and young people. The course will develop your knowledge of the responsibilities of Residential Support Workers, the diverse needs of the children and young people using the services, and other important factors such as safeguarding.

This course will cover:

  • Development of children

  • Children’s Home Regulations and key Quality standards

  • Communication and working in a team

  • The Rights of the Child

  • Safeguarding

  • Equality and Diversity,

  • Developing positive relationships with young people to support the achievement of health and wellbeing,

  • Developing positive relationships with young people to support the achievement of positive outcomes,

  • Employability Skills Employability and Personal Development including interview skills and

  • Preparation for work.
