Every November, the charity Movember campaigns to raise funds and awareness about men's health. The campaign focuses on mental health, suicide prevention, testicular and prostate cancer, encouraging men to show support by growing a moustache and by registering and taking part in fundraising activities.
During November, we'll be highlighting what men can do to stay healthy and well. Something that can affect our mental and physical health and wellbeing, is loneliness and isolation. NHS guidance tells us that 'loneliness is not a diagnosable illness, but feelings of isolation can be detrimental to mental health'.
At Bullion Hall we have busy programme of activities on every week for adults, children and young people. You can learn new skills, get fitter and healthier, meet new people and make new friends. For men, specifically we have three men's groups that offer the opportunity for socialising and peer support.
On Tuesday, 6 to 8pm there is ManHealth contact kevin@manhealth.onmicrosoft.com for more information. On Thursday's 6 to 8pm, the Men's Shed meets, for more information email themenshed@outlook.com and both of these groups are free to attend. On Wednesday afternoon's 12.15 to 2.15pm, the Men's Cree, a lunch and social club meets, email martin@bullionhall.com to find out more about the Cree.
